The store has donated $5000 to the Bundaberg Health Services Foundation to be specifically used to purchase medical equipment for the children’s ward at Bundaberg Hospital.

The Foundation is a local not-for profit charity that raises funds to provide the extras that fall outside of government budgets, the extras that make a stay in hospital more comfortable.

Manager Maria Burnet said that the Foundation relied on support from local businesses and community fundraising activities for its work to continue.

“The Foundation adopted a new vision statement last year, Local People Helping Local patients,’’ she said.

“And when an event like this is held and the local community also gets behind it, they should realise that they are helping patients in their time of need.

“We are thrilled that Domino’s is donating such a substantial amount of funds to help the children’s ward.

“One hundred per cent of this donation will purchase equipment that will definitely support the dedicated staff and improve the outcomes for paediatric patients.’’
